3.1 Examples from history and life

For this activity, you have two choices:

1) Find an example from history.
  • Do a little digging through various sources (articles, Internet sites, etc.) and find an example of plagiarism (either intentional or unintentional).
  • Write a brief narrative (300 words) detailing the facts of the case, what the reason was for plagiarizing, and what the consequences were.  (In the case of unintentional plagiarism, the reasons may not be readily available.)
  • Post the narrative to the Unit 3 blog, and be sure to note whether it's intentional or unintentional.

2) Find a personal example from someone you know.
  • Do a little digging.  Ask around the family; ask the neighbors; ask your friends.

**After people start posting, read through the posts and share your thoughts on a few of the narratives.
